Terms.
These terms govern your use of North Kove. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use the site.
What North Kove is
North Kove is a decision-support and bookkeeping tool for Canadians who borrow to invest. It provides a simulator that runs historical backtests, and (when ready) a tracker that records your real-world leveraged-investing activity.
North Kove does not provide investment, tax, or legal advice. For the full list of what we don’t do, see the disclaimer.
Who can use it
You must be:
- A Canadian resident
- At least the age of majority in your province or territory
- Using the site for personal, non-commercial purposes
We don’t currently support U.S. tax handling, cross-border accounts, or institutional use.
Your responsibilities
- The accuracy of any data you enter is your responsibility.
- The decision to act on anything you see here is your responsibility.
- If you use the tracker for tax records, you should have an accountant verify your year-end figures before filing.
Our responsibilities
We work hard to keep the math correct and the site running. We can’t promise either with certainty. We may take the site down for maintenance, fix bugs, change features, or shut down entirely.
If we permanently shut down, we’ll give you at least 90 days’ notice and a way to export your data.
Intellectual property
The site, the code, the copy, and the design are owned by North Kove. Your data is owned by you.
What we don’t promise
We don’t promise that you’ll make money. We don’t promise that the simulator’s historical results predict future results. We don’t promise that the CRA will accept any specific record. We don’t promise the site will be available at all times.
Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, North Kove is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you’ve paid us in the last 12 months, which currently is zero because the product is free.
Termination
You can stop using the site any time. We can suspend or close your access if you violate these terms or use the site in a way that threatens it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia.
Changes
If we materially change these terms, we’ll update this page and — if you’re on the waitlist — send you an email.
